Swim Class
The whole family took a Parent-and-Child swim class this month at our Local YMCA. Davis did great with his first water experience and Hendrick is now an expert. Hendrick will be moving on to the "advanced" Pre-school class next month.

Our Family had a wonderful time camping at Rock Island State Park in Middle Tennesseet this past weekend. From our campsite at Rock Island, we took a day trip hiking at Burgess Falls - the boys (and dogs) were real troupers. As is common with camping, we all ate and slept very well! It is to nice to take a break from our everyday, slow down, and enjoy nature together.

We are pleased to announce we are in the process of adopting a child from Ethiopia. God grows families in many ways. We are thrilled our family is growing! We began the process in December 2006 and have completed all initial stages and are now waiting for the referral of our child. We look forward to traveling to Ethiopia in the coming year to bring our newest family member home.
The most amazing thing in this whole journey has been the feeling that this is exactly God’s plan for our family. We have been humbled by God’s awesome provision for our family in this venture. International adoption has a unique set of challenges and can be emotionally and financially draining. At every step in this process, God has provided, and has given us peace. We have been so blessed.
The foundation of adoption is in God and at the heart of the gospel. We are the “children of God” – but not His literal children. God has adopted us into His family through the death of His Son on the cross, giving us a new home and a new future. Adoption is a beautiful picture of making someone a part of your family forever. We hope to honor God with this adoption.

We are a fiercely independent family. We believe parenting is a ministry and seek out and strive to follow God’s will in all areas of our life. We pursue educational enrichment and intentionally carve out fun family time to cultivate a team atmosphere.
