OBX 2019 - the beach

Chasing waves, jumping waves, riding waves

Strawberries in Minnesota have a late and very short season - we were thankful to make it out to pick berries this year, barely!  We squeezed in a trip to the farm after our beach vacation and in the middle of the State Baseball Tournament, on the final day the patch was open to the public.  The berries were incredibly ripe and bursting with sweetness.  The farmers encouraged the kids to test taste as much as possible - they enjoyed plenty while we collected our buckets!  

A beautiful day to be outside - and four flats of berries gathered to enjoy (they didn't last long enough to make can jam!).

(We missed Kolpin, Tesfaye, and Hendrick on this outing.  Kolpin was away at Cub Scout Day Camp, Tesfaye was traveling to the State Baseball Tournament, and Hendrick was working - it's getting harder and harder as the kids get older and have their own schedules to enjoy whole family outings together. We'll take what we can get.  We brought plenty home for them :)
