We finally admitted to ourselves, it was time to sell our beloved Saturn Wagon...our vehicle needs to reflect our growing family. So, we cleaned it up, and traded up for a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. It was sad to see our Wagon go...I can't believe we now drive a Minivan! We got an amazing price for our Wagon, and an unbelievable price on the new Minivan - Praise God! We feel really good about this change - it is the perfect vehicle for our family.
Our family went on a short trip to Cincinnati for a packed weekend to visit with our families. The Boys were able to spend time with (Amy's Family) Grandma and Grandpa Barrett; Uncle Dann and his fiance, Miss Julie; Aunt Erin; Cousin Zoey; and (Mike's Family) Great Grandma Burke; Grandpa Young; Aunt Annie, Uncle Greg, and new baby, Cousin Will; Aunt Sarah; and Uncle Matt. We also managed to squeeze in a swim in Grandpa's lake, a romp at the playground, and a trip to the Panegyri Greek Festival (our favorite) at the Greek Orthodox Church in Cincinnati. 
Our home was built in 1976 by a civil engineer - as a self-heating, self-cooling project house (the home has since been converted to central air). The foundation is a 24-inch concrete slab, and the walls are 12-inch thick back-filled cement block. Apparently it was featured in Architectural Digest. It is a unique house with lots of personality (read: opportunity).
The front door is in the back of the house - along with all of the windows! It has a very open floor plan, and the upstairs bedrooms overlook the greatroom downstairs. We have been very busy personalizing this house and have a lot of fun projects planned.
We love this house - especially the 2 wooded acres on a lake. It's a perfect house for our family.
Hendrick (3 years) is our "big boy". He keeps us very busy and keeps us laughing. Hendrick is currently involved in Taekwondo (he has earned his yellow belt!) and swim classes. He LOVES reading books, playing cards and board games (especially Risk), coloring, catching bugs outside, Hotwheels and building blocks. Hendrick is very independent and analytical in his play, has an outgoing personality, and is very much a talker! Hendrick is working hard memorizing bible verses and on the begining steps to learn to read. His motivation and quickness in learning amazes us.
Chaska - 4 years old, Smooth Collie, 55 pounds.
Chaska joined our family when we first moved to Minnesota in 2003. She was the runt of a litter destined to be champion show dogs. She is very smart, herds and protects our children, tends to be aloof, prances around like a champion, sounds like Chewbacca when playing, and sheds a lot!
Olive - almost 3 years, Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle), 9-1/2 pounds.
Olive, our forever puppy, was added to the family after the birth of Hendrick - to be a playmate to poor, displaced Chaska. She has fulfilled our hopes. Olive is the perfect tiny playmate, spunky and full of energy, loves playing with the boys (she allows pulls and tugs and smothers them with kisses)and loves her big sis Chaska.
Hendrick earned his Yellow Belt in Taekwondo! He graduated from Orange and moved onto Yellow. We are so proud of him.
