Pokemon
Pokemon has found a new generation of players in our household: Kolpin, Dabney, and Maclaren.
Kolpin has generously (and patiently) introduced this card game to his sisters. Thanks to a few new packs from daddy, the girls have begun their own collections and are quickly becoming card sharks.
Pokemon is much more fun to play in a group - and these matches are happening all the time in our house!

Twists
Fresh set of twists for our beautiful girl . . .
Hiwot has been wearing her hair loose and natural for longer and longer stretches between twist installments (I love it loose!). She's had fun trying out new styles and techniques and is learning so much. But, unfortunately for her, when it comes time for a longer lasting style, the only one her mama's mastered is twist extensions.
We have upped our twist game using Brazilian Hair Yarn rather than basic acrylic yarn, and we're now burning the tips to seal rather than knotting.
She's beautiful however her curls styled :)

Sheet Angels
Who knew a basket of laundry destined for the linen closet could create
Angels . . .
and safety bubbles . . .
and paragliders . . .
Small mundane tasks with a little creative play can become big joys - thank goodness the basket of clean linens never made it past the foyer stairs.
I'm thankful for the creativity of these kiddos :)

Christ is Risen
"Christ is Risen!"
"Christ is Risen indeed!"
. . . crack . . .
Each Easter celebration includes our traditional egg tapping competition (egg boxing?).
The egg, a symbol of new life, was adopted by early Christians as a symbol of the resurrection of Jesus. The custom of "egg tapping" was practiced in medieval Poland, and colonial America - with the winner keeping both eggs. Continued from my family's Easter tradition, our family has an egg tapping competition on Easter with the two competitors saying the words:
"Christ is Risen!"
"Christ is Risen indeed!"
We continue tapping in pairs until there is a "tip" winner and a "blunt" winner.
Then it's the final tap . . .the last (uncracked) egg standing is deemed the lucky winner.
Congratulations to Dabney, this Easter's egg tapping winner!
