Movers and Shakers

We are so proud of our bity boys! Davis has worked really hard (with lots of therapy) and has mastered walking. Burke (with lots of encouragement) has transitioned from his "butt scoot" to crawling.

Watch out world...here we come!

Thank You

Thank you to our friends and family who have helped and supported us these last few months. We are doing so well and adjusting beautifully to our family of six, thanks to you! Thank you for the prayers, meals, phone calls, notes, childcare, visits, gifts and encouragement...you have helped us more than you know and we are so appreciative.
Our family has been blessed by you!

Davis Strikes Again

Is he trying to find the best one? Hey, at least he's eating cucumber...although you may worry if we serve chopped cucumber for dinner - ha ha ha!

Memphis

Today we took a trip to the Children's Museum of Memphis. We really enjoy having our family membership...and had fun meeting up with friends at the museum. As usual, the kids were drawn to the water.
I think we may find excuses to drive to Memphis just so we can eat lunch at Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant...Ethiopian food is now a family favorite - Yummy!! We have visited Abyssinia 3 times in the last 5 weeks (since Maegli's arrival). Our new favorite dish is the Tilapia...and Hendrick loves eating his injera with lentils, peas, cabbage and carrots (I don't think he realizes he's eating a plate of veggies!) - we are so proud!

Self-fulfilling prophecy

As a previous post on this blog predicted might happen, Dusty Baker is already showing a tendency to bench his younger players in favor of veterans who "know how to play the game." The Reds have some of the best young talent in the game (Jay Bruce, Joey Votto, Homer Bailey, Edinson Volquez), but it looks like they will be slaving away in AAA.

Stay positive...stay positive...find your happy place....

Say Cheese!

We are thrilled with Hendrick's 4-year-old pictures!

Bumps and Bruises

Davis is almost a walking pro...
he has the bumps and bruises to prove it!

Hide-out

Burke found a new place to play...I've got you!

One Month Out-and-About

Maegli is now ONE MONTH old...this has been the quickest month EVER!
She is doing great - 7-1/2 pounds and sleeping 5-6 hours at a stretch each night (6-3/4 hours is our record). The boys love their baby sister. Burke is constantly "petting" her, Davis likes to give kisses, and Hendrick will comment "Maegli's so beautiful; look at her hands, they're so cute!".
We are really enjoying our new "normal" and getting out-and-about again.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Hendrick!

We are so proud of our big 4-year-old! We have so enjoyed watching him grow from baby to toddler to big boy...we know God has great plans for his future.

We celebrated with a yummy elephant cake (by Hendrick's request!).

It's a Twister!

A 1/4-mile wide tornado riped through North Jackson, Tennessee Tuesday evening dropping baseball-sized hail and leaving a 35-mile path of destruction. Our home, thankfully, was untouched, but hundreds of homes and businesses in Madison county were detroyed and thousands of residents have been without power.
Union University suffered the majority of damage (estimated at $40-50 million). All of the dorms on campus were destroyed - praise God all students survived. 1,000 cars were totaled and not a single campus building was untouched. All classes have been suspended for at least 2 weeks.
President Bush has declared Madison county (along with 4 other Tennessee counties) a major disaster area and has ordered federal aid. Clean-up, repair, and rebuilding will take a lot of time. Please pray for the people affected by this violent storm.

Hiking

After a wonderful week with Amy's parents, we had more visitors! Amy's brother, Dann, and his fiance, Julie, came to spend the weekend. We had a great time...the boys had a ball!

On Saturday, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and all went hiking at Mousetail Landing State Park. Amy carried Maegli, Mike carried Davis, Dann carried Burke, and Julie gave Hendick a piggyback-ride for a good portion of the hike. We were quite a sight, had a lot of fun, and even found a lizard!
